TubePRE High Performance Stereo Single Ended Tube preamplifier
The TubePre is a
high performance preamplifier board based on a single ended triode tube. TubePre is a complete preamplifier
delivering audiophile quality tube sound in a very small package. The board is small (only 100 x 85 mm),
includes fully regulated DC power supply fro the tube heaters, and is powered
with a standard and cheap power transformer that you can find in any electronic
shop. Yet it gives to you: - Stereo preamplification of audio
signals with single ended triode architecture
- Class A operation
- No global feedback (ensuring the
highest sound quality)
- Low output impedance (the preamp is
capable of driving any reasonable load)
- Simple setup: only a standard 18 + 18 Volts AC power transformer is required

Wiring the preamplifier board is a matter
of 1 minute: you will need to screw the wires of the power transformer only. The unit comes with pre-soldered cables with RCA
connectors fro input and output. The layout of input and output pins is
described carefully in case you want to substitute the wires with your own.

"Tube Sound" is something that improves every HIFI system. Usually a tube preamplifier costs a lot of money, and is difficult to setup due to the need of specialized high voltage power supplies. In this case you get the high quality "tube sound" with an advanced audio architecture: the high voltages are generated on board. The power transformer is cheap and standard.
As usal the effect is impressive ... just try and you'll hear, tubes still rule the audio world!

The TubePRE is available as an assembled and tested board, with a 6SL7 tube.
What's the difference with the TubeHead and Tubalizer?
In a few words:
- The "TubePRE" is a true tube preamplifier with high voltage anode voltage (generated on board). This ensures the highest sound quality, so it is best suited to improve traditional HIFI systems. Quality is on the same level as the "Heresy", yet the board is simpler and safer to use.
- The
"Tubalizer" and "TubeHEAD" work with 12V DC power supply. The first is a buffer stage, the second one is a preamplifier. Working at 12V makes them portable and safe, but sound quality is a little lower.
